Lara Butler

A bit about me…

My name is Lara Butler and I am a British Dressage Rider who resides in Gloucestershire, Great Britain.

My love for horses began from the moment my mother placed me on my first horse at two years old and I have never looked back since. I have been on the Junior and Young Rider British Dressage teams in 2004, 2006, 2008 and 2009.

After combining education and sport throughout Junior and Young Rider British Teams, I graduated from Oxford Brookes University in 2010 and decided that now was the time to concentrate entirely on my competitive career. I was approached by the Bechtolsheimers about the potential to join their team, so at the end of the year I became the rider for the Bechtolsheimers.

In 2016, riding the Bechtolsheimer’s horse Rubin Al Asad, I was a reserve for the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro and European Team Reserve 2017. In 2018, I was also reserve for World Equestrian Games, became British National Champion and at the end of the year my husband and I announced that we were expecting their first child in April 2019, Jack was born on 12 April.

I have always loved competing and training in Euro-star clothing so feel very grateful and honoured to become part of the team. I love the modern designs of the clothes yet they are so technically brilliant too allowing you to train in total comfort. My horses look stunning in the horse apparel too. My favourite product is probably the competition jacket. Competing outside in England it’s usually raining and the jacket is totally waterproof so once you’ve taken it off you’re still dry.. it’s amazing!
